Yep, I downgraded from 94 to 91 and my setup started working fine.

I had the same error. Luckily I had a second system that was working. I
downgraded from

postgresql90-odbc-09.03.0400-1PGDG.rhel6.x86_64
postgresql90-odbc-09.00.0310-1PGDG.rhel6.x86_64

and my isql worked again.
