Hi

I have been using cygwin and postgres 7.1.3 for some time and I have just
upgraded to cygwin 1.5.5-1 and postgres7.3.4 and its all gone pear shaped.

It seems that 'ipc-deamon' no longer exists and I have to use 'ipc-deamon2'
prior to starting the postmaster. I managed to start the postmaster and
initialise the directory using 'initbd -D /usr/local/pgsql/data'
unfortunatly when I try to create the database I get:-

$createdb <dbname>
psql: server closed the connection unexpectedly
this probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while
processing the request.
createdb: database creation failed

The Debug line from the postmaster is: segmentation fault <core dumped>

The postmaster.exe.stackdump :-

Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION at eip=008C316D

I have tried the documentation and I've reinistalled cygwin as well as all
of the packages from scratch still no joy. Anybody any ideas?

Regards
Keith
