PostgreSQL All Rounder position in Sydney

Hello,

We would like to speak to candidates interested in a position with the
Fujitsu Supported PostgreSQL team, based at French's Forest, Sydney.

The role is described as follows :-

Role Title : PostgreSQL All Rounder (DBA and Development)

Status : Contract Position initially with a view to becoming permanent.

Key Responsibilities - Technical and Customer Facing

1. Technical PostgreSQL Support - resolving all levels of customer
queries.
2. Work as part of the Fujitsu Supported PostgreSQL team.
3. PostgreSQL-related Programming potentially with a view to making
direct contributions to the Open Source PostgreSQL codebase.
4. Contribute to the maintenance of high-quality documentation.
5. Pre-sales activities to assist FSP business development and
marketing initiatives.
6. Promotion of PostgreSQL at technical and/or business seminars.
7. General PostgreSQL-related problem-solving.
8. Write and update web content.
9. Readiness to travel inter-state and overseas in response to client
and company requirements.
10. Training - involvement in course preparation and presentation

Candidate Profile

1. Passionate about Open Source software.
2. Preferably, an established background in making technical
contributions to one or more Open Source community projects.
3. Self-motivating but with a strong sense of team commitment and
ability to work closely with others.
4. Experience in and a strong existing or developing commitment to
PostgreSQL. Previous experience and a high level of expertise in general
database technology (PostgreSQL or other) is a mandatory requirement.
5. Client-facing experience in a technical capacity.
6. Comfortable with making business or technical presentations.
7. Familiarity with key business application categories (CRM, ERP, SCM)
a significant advantage.
8. Some background in UNIX systems administration (Solaris and/or
Linux) would be viewed favourably.
