PostgreSQL Extension Summit & Mini Summits

Date: 2025-03-12 – 2025-05-13
Location: Montréal, Canada
Language: English
PostgreSQL Community Event This event is recognised under the community event guidelines.

The summit will once again be an unconference-style session dedicated to exploring the ongoing work on PostgreSQL extension development and distribution, examine challenges, identify questions, propose solutions, and collaborate to implement solutions. The session will be the morning of May 13th at PGConf. If you’d like to attend, select it as an “Additional Option” when you register, or update your registration if you’ve already registered. Hope to see you there!

The Extension Summits fill an hour or so every other Wednesday starting March 12. We’ll hear from contributors to a variety of community and commercial extension initiatives outline the problems they want to solve, their attempts to so, challenges discovered along the way, and dreams for an ideal extension ecosystem in the future. Tentative speaker lineup:

  • March 12: David Wheeler, PGXN: “State of the Extension Ecosystem”
  • March 26: Peter Eisentraut, Core Team: “Implementing an Extension Search Path”
  • April 9: Christoph Berg, Debian: “Apt Extension Packaging”
  • April 23: TBD
  • May 7: Gabriele Bartolini, CNPG “Extension Management in CloudNativePG”

Please sign up for the Meetup for details and the up-to-date schedule.

Can’t make it? No worries! Thanks to the generosity of PGConf.dev and its sponsors, the sessions will be recorded and posted on the PGConf.dev YouTube and we will once again publish transcripts, as well.

Best regards from your Organizers,

David Wheeler, Floor Drees, Yurii Rashkovskii, & Keith Fiske
