The bazaar of free and open-source databases

Speaker: Gabriele Bartolini - ITPUG and PostgreSQL Europe

The European Union has recently approved the aquisition of Sun by Oracle Corporation, leader company in the database sector. At the same time, Oracle has acquired the property of MySQL, the most diffused and used open-source database.

Has the world of open-source and free databases, where company-led projects co-exist with community-driven ones, been affected indefinitely?

The event, in Italian, is free of charge and begins at 9PM.

Location:

Libreria Caffé La Cité

Borgo San Frediano, 20r - Firenze
