Hi Jim,
I tested the latest v12 patch on PostgreSQL 20devel.
I applied the patch cleanly and rebuilt PostgreSQL with libxml
support. I tested it using a fresh cluster.
The following tests passed:
\df xmldocument — the function is present.
xmldocument('<root><foo>bar</foo></root>'::xml) — returned the input
XML unchanged.
xmldocument(xmlforest(10 AS x, 20 AS y)) — returned <x>10</x><y>20</y>.
xmldocument(NULL::xml) — returned NULL.
xmldocument(xmlcomment('comment')) — returned the XML comment correctly.
I also ran the regression tests, and all tests passed.
I did not find any issues during my testing. The patch looks good to me.
Thanks for the work on this patch.
Regards,
Solai
