Hi,

I am stopping the server as follows
/etc/init.d/postgres stop

starting the new /etc/init.d/postgres

my pg_log contains as follows logs

LOG: database system was shut down at 2009-09-21 13:40:53 IST
LOG: autovacuum launcher started
LOG: database system is ready to accept connections

what do you mean by serverlog is this same as pg_log.
