If SHOW PG_OPTIONS; is executed, one of the lines is
o NOTICE: nofsync=0
now, SET PG_OPTIONS TO 'nofsync=1';
SHOW PG_OPTIONS;
o NOTICE: nofsync=1

Does this actually work?
