PostgreSQL 7.0 beta 1 , Linux RedHat 6.1 i386

Opening a database with psql and execute a select query on a table with
a lot of rows.
---- More ----- appears to the end of a screen, hit CTLR-C in order to
break the output of the rows.

>From that point the characters entered from the keyboard are not echoed
anymore, but they are somewhere, the commands are executed!
Need to exit from psql and restart again in order to see what I'm
typing.

CTRL-C is the right way of breaking the output of the rest of the rows?
