Lots of bug squashing in the pipes this week. D'arcy Cain fixed some
issues with python support. There were also fixes for cursor support, backups,
, some optimization fixes, and a patch from Neil Conway was submitted for
fixing a segfault condition with plpgsql. Even Red Hat got into the mix,
releasing new RPM's for those running older versions of PostgreSQL that
contain some of the fixes that came about in version 7.3.
See for more.

On the features front, the ora2pg utility has been updated as well to work
with 7.3 schema support. All those switching from Oracle to PostgreSQL are
encouraged to check it out. (

There has also been good activity on the international front; the Brazilian
PostgreSQL community has translated the reference manual to Portuguese and
also has several tutorials on their website.
