        The Jim Henson Company - premier provider of family
        entertainment for over 50 years and computer generated animation
        since 1993 - is seeking a database programmer for its Creature
        Shop.  Position designs, implements, and maintains the SQL
        databases and related applications required for the computer
        generated animation pipeline, with focus on digital asset

LOCATION: Hollywood, CA


        Database programmer and administrator for PostgreSQL digital
        asset database.
        Design and maintain Python database API, tools, and web
        Routine system administration of database server running Debian
        Linux OS.

        Mastery of relational database design and modeling, object
        relational mapping (sqlalchemy preferred)
        Proficient in SQL database:  transactions, views, triggers,
        functions and other advanced features of PostgreSQL
        Proficient in Python programming and mod_python
        Proficient Linux/Unix user
        Knowledge of Apache2, HTML and HTTP
        Preferred Maya Mel Scripting and GUI experience

        Strong drive and initiative
        Teamwork is essential 
        Excellent communication skills
