If we create following function with 5444 pgAdmin III crashed as well:

CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION fun()
RETURNS character AS
$BODY$begin
return 1;
end;$BODY$
LANGUAGE 'plpgsql' VOLATILE;

While for new procedure its working fine with 5444:

create or replace procedure proc
is
begin
null;
end;
