The best you can do is to edit pg_hba.conf and add a line like this:
local all all trust
connect to pgsql as postgres user and execute ALTER ROLE
user_you're_connecting_to_in_app PASSWORD 'yourpassword';
then add to pg_hba.conf a line like this:
host dbname username ip_web_server/32 md5
