This one has me completely stumped. I'm running Red Hat 7.3 here with the
2.4.19 kernel. I grag the rpms from the postgresql.org Web site but they
cannot freshen the existing 7.2.1-5 installation. The error message is:

[root(at)salmo /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i686]# rpm -Fvh postgresql-*
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
package postgresql-7.3.2-1PGDG is for a different architecture
package postgresql-contrib-7.3.2-1PGDG is for a different architecture
package postgresql-devel-7.3.2-1PGDG is for a different architecture
package postgresql-docs-7.3.2-1PGDG is for a different architecture
package postgresql-libs-7.3.2-1PGDG is for a different architecture
package postgresql-server-7.3.2-1PGDG is for a different architecture

I've tried the -1PGDG and -2PGDG packages with the same result. I also
grabbed the .src.rpm for both releases, rebuilt them with both i686 and i386
targets and still see the same results.

I've had postgres on here since Red Hat 4.1 so I'm at a loss to understand
what went wrong on this try. I suppose I can build all from the tarballs and
make packages with checkinstall, but I'd sure like to understand what's
going on.

Anyone?
