To All:

I ran across an interesting Postgres Bug that I have tested and found in
versions 8.3 through 9.2.

When you change schema and table names that a view references. The view
is still viewable with a select statement but if you try and execute the
view definition contained within the pg_catalog.pg_views, then it fails.
This also affects GUI tools such as PG Admin III, if you view the view
definition in PG Admin and just save it without any changes, the save
will fail.

I will be adding an upcoming talk about this bug. If you are interested
in reading about this bug, you can lookup bug #7553 on the psql-bugs
mailing list.
