I think it was discussed before to list the most recent versions in at
least the "current version" (for now, I guess 8.0.1 and 7.4.7, possibly
even the 7.3 release series).

Not being a designer, how about a short section above "Shortcuts" for
that? There seems to be a bunch of empty space below it that it can be
moved to. Just a simple list of "latest versions" with a link to the
download page seems reasonable?

(And no, I can't give an example. Someone who knows where to stuff that
into the design to make it appear on the right place would have to do
that, and I don't.)
