PostgreSQL Database Engineer Position in Raleigh, NC

I am assisting an international company headquartered in Raleigh, NC in
their search for a Database Engineer. In a nutshell, they are looking
for someone who will be involved with fault-tolerant systems leveraging
clustered systems, SAN technologies, replication, database mirroring, as
well as development within a farm architecture.

This individual must have two key skills:
1. Postgres Database Knowledge
2. SQL Server skills

They are more flexible with the latter of the two as the need with the
team is someone who can do the Postgres work and they could even train
on the SQL Server if need be. I have included a detailed copy of the

Essential Job Functions:

Practical application of advanced database concepts, including
development with highly available, fault-tolerant systems leveraging
clustered systems and SAN technologies, replication, database mirroring,
as well as development within a federated farm architecture.
Derive logical models from key business requirements, and evolve those
models into a physical implementation.
Proactive in analyzing existing systems and identifying areas of
improvement by offering alternative solutions and designs, using third
party tools, etc. to solve the issues at hand.
Works well on an agile product team developing customer-driven features
and architectural enhancements.
Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills.
Able to work effectively with internal and external groups including
clients and vendors.

Requires BS degree. Advanced degree desirable.
Requires recent PostgreSQL experience.
Requires 5 or more years experience in database schema design and T-SQL
development on Microsoft SQL Server platform.
Required areas of expertise:
Extensive T-SQL coding experience on Microsoft SQL Server.
Extensive experience optimizing and debugging stored procedures, views,
indexes, triggers, etc.
Experience building scalable database architectures.
Experience with database replication.
Experience with partitioning strategies within the database.
Experience with clustered database systems.
Experience with database modeling tools.
Experience working in a 24/7 enterprise environment.
