Compiler used (example: gcc 2.8.0) : gcc 2.8.1

Please enter a FULL description of your problem:
------------------------------------------------

Postgres failed to compile, here is the error

gcc -I../../include -I../../backend -DNOFIXADE -Wall
-Wmissing-prototypes -I.. -c snprintf.c -o snprintf.o
snprintf.c: In function `vsnprintf':

make[1]: *** [port.dir] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/pgsql/postgresql-v6.4/src/backend'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Please describe a way to repeat the problem. Please try to provide a
concise reproducible example, if at all possible:
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just try to compile with version of 2.8.1. of gcc. NB. I've tried with
the native cc instead of gcc and again the code fails to compile, but
for a DIFFERENT reason. I'm going to try to solve the problem above.

If you know how this problem might be fixed, list the solution below:
