I know that postgres runs under Cygwin. It was announced that 7.4 would
have a windows native version or some such. I have found nothing but
Cygwin versions however.
I have a situation where I'm building an application and Cygwin is
obnoxious to work with from an installation viewpoint (i.e. creating
the installer) plus it is additional overhead and maintenance that I'd
rather not deal with in a deployment situation. So I was wondering
what the status on having a windows native release is? I really REALLY
would like to use postgresql for this application, but I want to avoid
having to write my own Cygwin install script for non-technical users
who have never heard of Linux.
