importing data from other DB's and from other servers

Hi

First of all i want to apologize if this is the wrong list, but here goes:

Suppose i have to DB's on the same server. Is there a way (maybe with views)
that i can have one table from one of the DB's into the other. Ex:

DB 1
table A
table B

DB 2
table C
table B (this one is a pointer to table B in DB 1)

Is this possible ???

What about doing this but with the db's on different server's.

I thought about creating a view where the select would be a c function (or an
internal one, haven't looked at it yet) that would select what i want from the
other db. Is this possible ? How ? Will it ever be possible ? When ? Thanks
