I think you should do:

setenv CLASSPATH ${CLASSPATH}:/opt/local/pgsql/jdbc/postgresql.jar

Assume that PostgreSQL is installed in /opt/local. And then:

import java.sql.*;

Don't do

import postgresql.

It works with me.
