I'm trying to build the PostgreSQL ODBC drivers from source on OS X 10.6.4
(Snow Leopard) against the Apple-shipped iODBC driver manager. The driver
just hangs when trying to test connections, and I think it might be
something to do with linking on the 64 bit OS. I asked on the project
mailing list and the developers were not familiar enough with OS X
development and couldn't offer any useful suggestions.

I can build the driver without issue against MacPorts unixODBC, but that
shoehorns in a ton of dependencies that eventually entails a whole separate
copy of Apache and PHP, which is a bit overkill for my current application.

I can also successfully build and link the driver for MySQL from source, so
there may be something more astute eyes can glean from their build process.

Anybody familiar with with actual C development on OS X and willing to
assist?
