well, by "configuration nonsense" what I mean is that when I uninstall
using brew and then install again using brew and try to start the server or
run my rails app, i get messages telling me that there is something already
running on port 5432. incidentally, i also installed "brew install
postgis". not sure if i mentioned that in my original post.
