Please use PostgreSQL or Postgres as the application name.

But to answer your question, you could look at the various
authentication options available. Since you're in a Windows
environment, you may wish to use SSPI

or GSSAPI (http://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/static/auth-methods.html#GSSAPI-AUTH)
