With a few exceptions, whenever we have need for a new service of some kind, we build a FreeBSD jail to contain it and deploy it on whichever piece of hardware is most appropriate for our needs, and keep backups of the entire jail elsewhere. This gives use far greater flexibility to move things around in the event of problems than if we tie specific services to particular hardware.

I moved both boxes to a gmirror based Software RAID setup, upgraded them
6.3RC1 and added documentation as well as monitoring.
There is still a bit of clarification outstanding from the french guys
but we are basically ready to move services to them.
