Sun still calls Solaris SunOs - try doing uname -s on a Solaris box (or
look at a buildfarm solaris build info)

So what he said he tested could mean Solaris/x86 + Linux x86 or
Solaris/Sparc + Linux Sparc among other possible combos. Given the
results I assume they are at least not the same box ;-)
