1/ What is an octet?
2/ How do I generate the 'octet string' for insertion into a bytea
filed?
i.e. how do I turn 'this is a string' into an octet string?
3/ Why is not the hexadecimal SQL standard for BLOBS used? It'd be
really super cool if the input out put function ignored all white space
in a hexidecimal string.
