I've looked through dejanews and the archives and can't seem
to find any similar posts, so...here goes:
I've got a site (www.buffalozoo.org)
that is running on a RH5 Linux box, Apache
server with PostgreSQL..(v6.3 i think -- it was a long
time ago and this is an 'after-hours' personal project that
I do for free)
anyway, everything's been working fine, *until*, just this weekend
someone performed 'maintenance' (i use that term loosely!)
on the server and now everytime I attempt to connect to the
database: "psql zoo", I get the error message: "Broken Pipe".
I checked and it appears that their handiwork has screwed-up the
ownership of the 'postgres' files...I manually changed them back
to the 'postgres' user as they were originally, but that didn't
seem to help.
My guess is that maybe I didn't find them all, or there are some
other ownership/permission issues at work, or maybe something
even more serious...any help would be GREATLY appreciated as
I have a full-time day job and don't have the time to spend hours
trying to figure this out myself, alone....
THANKS ALOT!
