It will, but I think we'll eventually have to get there if for no
other reason than that every other DBMS on earth would have it.

Something like this:

SELECT a, b, c
FROM (
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE
LANGUAGE plperl
$$...$$
) AS (a int, b point, c text)
JOIN ...

Anyhow, the idea is to be able to call PL functionality in-line
without having to create a function in advance.
