The OSDL provides two services to aid in development processes: The
Patch Lifecycle Manager (PLM) and the Scalable Test Platform (STP).
Recent releases allow software other than the linux kernel to be
actively tested.

PLM (http://www.osdl.org/plm-cgi/plm) can be used for storing a series
of patches against any source tree or other patches, in this case the
database source code.

STP (http://www.osdl.org/stp) can be used to test the patches stored in
PLM with various tests on 4- and 8-way IA-32 systems. Currently the
only test taking advantage of the recent enhancements is DBT-2, an OLTP
workload labeled dbt2-pgsql in STP. I'm currently working on getting
DBT-3, a decision support workload, working with the recent release of
STP.

In addition to PLM and STP, the OSDL provides hardware resources free of
charge. More information can be found here:

Let me know if you have any questions.
