Hi,

Mozilla allows you to set multiple languages I think... will have to check what headers it sends then...

news and events can be translated in the new admin area (http://wwwdevel2.postgresql.org/admin/ - don't miss the trailing slash!), you can add yourself to the .htaccess in that directory to have a look at it. It's password protected as it acts on the live database - please be careful on it ;) I will add the possibility to translate the polls, too - this is implemented in the website, but missint in the admin area.

It's currently implemented in a way that every news and event is added in english and then translated by us in the admin area. Those entries not yet translated automatically fall back to the english ones...

There are some new database tables for it, called events_text, news_text and survey_questions.

Documentation can be translated by simply adding the new entries to the documentation table in the database using the correct language code.

If the is for a file in the /admin, /layout or the /files directory, nothing happens. Every other request gets redirected to the script /system/handler.php (or /system/handleform.php which handles every dynamic request) where the pages get built and delivered dynamically.

The cache directory contains all static pages and elements, so this can be used to mirror the whole website (all dynamic contents get linked to postgresql.org statically).

Headline: pgAdmin3 (the next generation PostgreSQL GUI) is looking for translators!
Summary:

pgAdmin, one of the most widely popular cross platform GUI\'s for PostgreSQL, is soon to announce it\'s third major release and needs more translators!

Can you assist?

Story:

pgAdmin, one of the most widely popular cross platform GUI\'s for PostgreSQL, is soon to announce it\'s third major release and needs more translators!

It has been designed from near the beginning to handle multiple languages, and has already been mostly translated into 16 non-English ones so far:

Danish, German, Farsi, French, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Japanese, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese-Brazilian, Romanian, Russian, Turkish, Chinese simplified, and Chinese traditional

We\'re trying to get a lot more ready in time for this release, so that PostgreSQL is available for the widest possible audience.

If you have some time to assist, then <b>please</b> take a look at the <a href=\"http://pgadmin.postgresql.org/pgadmin3/translation.php\">pgAdmin3 Translation page</a> and contact either <a href=\"mailto:jm(at)poure(dot)com\">Jean-Michel Poure</a> or <a href=\"mailto:dpage(at)vale-housing(dot)co(dot)uk\">Dave Page</a> to get involved:
