We are retained to find a handful of talented Architects for an innovative arm 
of a high-profile company looking to take its database to the next level. As a 
key contributor you will be involved in the following:
 
	* Work with the database system as a whole as well as some of its components in 
depth as well as understand      how the database interacts with other software
	* Participate      in research and design to take the database to the next 
level
	* Stay      informed with related work commercially and academically
	* Contribute      significantly to important software architectural decisions, 
producing      designs, presentations and prototypes to  support your 
recommendations
	* Review      designs, algorithms and code
 Requirements
 
	* Strong systems development skills
	* Expertise      in one or two areas of database internals
	* Expertise      in other database areas and other enterprise system software 
 such as queuing systems, application      servers, networking etc.
	* History      of contributing to database technology through open source, 
academe or      otherwise
	* Enjoys      being part of a team working on state-of-the-art technology and 
communicates      effectively at all levels
	* NOTE: Can be in most locations in the US or internationally as part of a 
senior,  virtual team
