RE: Starting postgresql on startup

'linuxconf' on Mandrake 7.1 should be able to set postgres to run at boot
time as long as you set Postgresql up from an rpm. If you got to 'Control
Panel' -> 'Control service activity' -> 'postgresql'. Set Startup to
automatic and select the run levels you want Postgresql to run in, usually 3
& 5.

If you compiled Postgresql from source then I think there is a script in
/contrib (There is in 7.1 Beta :-) ) which sets-up an rc script. This should
then make postgresql available in linuxconf.

P.S. This works in Mandrake 7.0 & 7.2 so hopefully 7.1
