Yes, it's fairly trivial to get anything to run as a service. In fact,
I have a shell of some code based around a fax server I wrote which I
would be happy to donate and/or implement into the postmaster. I agree
though that this is completely orthogonal to the port of the postmaster
itself, so the service component can be bolted on at any time with
minimal effort.
