Hi PostgreSQL jobs list,

Yup, another recruiter spamming your job list, but I'll try to be as unobnoxious as possible. A friend of mine is working for an up and coming HPDB startup out in San Diego and Cupertino called ParAccel. They've got a few people who broke off from WireCache and a few they grabbed from the supercomputing center in San Diego and management cherry-picked from Teradata and Oracle. One of them is Bruce Scott of Oracle scott/tiger schema fame. They're making some waves--partnerships out to wazoo, a growing line of satisfied customers, $20 million in series B funding--and I'm helping my friend find database internals engineers to expand and enhance their HPDB engine. It's written in C++ and is a vertical columnar nothing shared MPP engine--like Stonebraker's at Vertica, but we think better (and more aggressively marketed). If you're fascinated by the latest generation of HPDB technology and already live in CA, this is the team to join. And, what do you know, they're specifically looking to add a few people from large open-source db products, PostgreSQL being top on their list. So if any of the internals engineers out there want a new challenge or just a new day job, let me know and I'll put you in contact with the powers that be. Alternately, if you wanted to pass this around to someone who would be interested, that would be more than wonderful (and would earn you compensation, blah blah, sorry if you find referral fees slimy--they seem to be a necessary evil in this industry).

Disclaimer: yes, I have a financial interest in this. But that's because they're understandably pretty busy engineering their product and prefer to have someone else handling these sorts of things...

Thanks,
Shannon Maene
