RepDB*: a replication solution for PostgreSQL

Posted on 2005-10-14

RepDB* supports preventive data replication capabilities (multi-master modes, partial replication, strong consistency) which are independent of the underlying DBMS. It uses general, non intrusive techniques. It is implemented in Java on Linux and supports various DBMS. It main validation has been done on PostGreSQL. RepDB* has been designed and developed in France in the Atlas team at INRIA and LINA, Nantes.

It has been validated using the TPC-C benchmark on a 64-node cluster. In 2005, we registered RepDB* to the APP (Agence pour la Protection des Programmes) and released it as Open Source Software under the GPL licence.
