PostgreSQL at the University of Pisa

Members of the Italian PostgreSQL Users Group will present a 3 hour overview of PostgreSQL to the students of the Information Technology Department of the University of Pisa.

The event will take place at Polo Fibonacci on Friday May 8th, 2009 from 3PM onwards. For more detailed and up to date information, please visit the ITPUG website.

After a quick introduction to the PostgreSQL project and its community, the presentation will cover some practical aspects of database administration with pgAdminIII.

The final part will be focussed on the main programming interfaces for writing applications that interact with PostgreSQL databases.

The event is organised by the Italian PostgreSQL Users Group in collaboration with the students association "Ateneo Studenti" of the University of Pisa. The technical aspects have been coordinated by the Chapter of Tuscany of ITPUG, managed by Dr. Flavio Casadei della Chiesa.

Volunteers and members of ITPUG will setup a stand in the University for the duration of the event and will provide students with information, flyers and gadgets.
